A sporadically updated account of my days

Penny stock, not a penny stock. Penny stock, not a penny stock. Today Nortel has been floating around the US$1.00 mark. Crazy! It's worth about 1% of what it peaked at back in 2000.

Well, things are slowly getting back into a some sort of "normal" at work. It's still too damn quiet at work. There's nothing going on to distract me for a couple minutes here and there. No banter on how bad a call the ref made in the soccer game. No poking fun at people posting on the newsgroups. I miss those little breaks in the day. It's not the same now at all and I doubt it will ever be the same as long as I am in this job. If I moved to some other company it may get back to that state but I can't do that now. No opportunities and hey, who knows, I might get nailed on Thursday. The analysts are predicting more layoffs and they really haven't been that far off up until now. Who knows, I may get that summer vacation afterall. ;)
